Sharjah 24: Maryam Abdullah Al Sharaf, Head of the Media Section at Department of Family Development Centre (DFDC), confirmed that the "Homeland a Family" campaign, which was launched during 2020, has achieved great achievements that exceeded expectations thanks to the concerted efforts of institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah, and their support for the campaign.
Al Sharaf added that the success of campaign’s goals, which came as an affirmation of the directives of the wise leadership, and the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, about the necessity of caring for the family and preserving its stability.
This came during “Aman Ya Beladi” programme, prepared by the Sharjah Police Department of Media and Public Relations, and broadcast live on Sharjah Radio. Captain Ahmed Al Hammadi and Lieutenant Saud Bousaim presented the episode.
Al Sharaf indicated during the programme that “Homeland a Family”, aims to enhance awareness among the Emirati family to assume its responsibility towards forming a cohesive and stable family to raise a promising generation capable of facing rapid changes in life. In addition to consolidating the values of positivity, happiness and quality of life as a way of life in the UAE society.
The guest of the programme also touched on the main axes of the campaign, which are strengthening the values and culture that support family cohesion, empowering the human personality, as well as developing a high-class marital culture to build a stable family, and strengthening strong social connections, in addition to many axes that support the theme of the campaign.
Amira Al Marzouki, Head of the Family and Psychological Counseling Department at DFDC also spoke over the phone, during the programme, on the steps for building marital happiness and family stability.
She also talked about the cases most requesting guidance, and addressed the methods that have been followed with these cases, noting the privacy, confidentiality and full care that is handled with all consultations received by the department.
The programme also touched on the discussion of cyber-fraud crimes, addressing its negative causes and consequences for the individual and society, and the necessity for everyone to come together to reduce them. Colonel Dr. Ali Al Kai Al Hamoudi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department (ERPD) in Sharjah Police General Command, emphasised Sharjah Police's development of preventive solutions to reduce cyber fraud crimes.
Such endeavour came after data analysis indicated an increase in the number of reports of this type of crime after the emergence and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. This resulted in the launch of the awareness campaign by ERPD, in cooperation with a number of competent departments in the Sharjah Police, the Central Bank and various banks in the country.
The campaign aims to combat fraud crimes by phone, and raising the level of security awareness among community members about the methods of telephone fraud, in accordance with the vision of the Sharjah Police's strategy aimed at enhancing security and safety. The campaign calls on members of the public not to deal with anonymous phone calls and communication with the security authorities if they are exposed to such calls.
The programme also hosted by phone Captain Majid Al Masafi, Director of the General Licencing Branch at the Criminal Investigation Department at Sharjah Police, who talked about the scrap theft programme launched by the Sharjah Police General Command, in cooperation with a number of departments, with the aim of reducing scrap theft, especially for houses under construction.
Captain Majid Al Masafi stressed that the police and the competent authorities intensify their inspection campaigns on the shops and places of scrap trade, to determine the extent of their compliance and commitment to work with the programme.
