Sharjah 24: Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police, witnessed the conclusion of the Police Championship for Jiu-Jitsu No 2, at the Sports Hall of the Sharjah Police Academy, which was organised by the Ministry of Interior’s Police Sports Federation.
Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Academy; Brigadier Khalid Shuhail Vice President of the Police Sports Federation; and Brigadier General Aref Ali Al Rayes, Director of the Police Sports Federation Department, were present.
Nine police teams participated in the championship, according to the precautionary and preventive measures in place to limit the spread of the Coronavirus "Covid 19", in order to preserve the health and safety of the participants and the supervisors of the tournament.
Abu Dhabi Police General Command won first place achieving 78 scores, Police Academy came second with 51 scores, while the Dubai Police General Command came in third place with 48 scores.
Major General Al Shamsi said that the Jiu-Jitsu Championship (2) has achieved great success thanks to the follow-up by Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and his interest in all sport games and activities that develop the capabilities of the employees of the Ministry of Interior and the police leaderships in the country. He hailed the interaction among all participating teams, expressing his happiness with the distinguished technical level that the players showed in all categories of the competition, and appreciating the efforts of the organisers and the participating players that contributed to the success of the championship.
Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief then honoured the winners and congratulated them on the results they achieved.
