Sharjah24: Dr. Muhammad Safi Al Mostaghanemi, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy (ALA), he appealed to the Arabic language academies and the major modern linguistic centers concerned with the lexical industry for the necessity to include the glossary of the new vocabulary and the new expressions of the modern language, calling on the necessity of computerising dictionaries, adopting simplification and clarity in a way that promote the preservation of the language.
This came during a speech delivered remotely through visual communication platforms, during his participation in a conference on the Arabic language that was held on Monday, organised by the Association of Arab Universities and in cooperation with the League of Arab States, in conjunction with the celebration of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the League of Arab States.
He stressed that Arabs need to renew dictionaries and master the contemporary lexicography industry.
The Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah affirmed that the great efforts made by language councils and centers in the Arab world are great and valued, indicating at the same time the need for Arabs to bring them together.
The event was attended by a number of dignitaries and intellectuals.
