Trek back in time on Jebel Buhais

Sharjah24: As the winter is here, it is time to breathe in some fresh air, pump that adrenaline, and enjoy long walks and trails amidst the beautiful mountains. The Mleiha Archaeological and Eco-tourism Project in Sharjah is offering a Jebel Buhais trekking package for tourists and residents that combines physical activity with a peek into the important archaeological discoveries that have been made in the Mleiha region.

The Jebel Buhais Trek is a 60-minute archaeological discovery trekking experience that includes a 15-minute drive to the Buhais Mountain where trekkers will walk amongst various tombs that have been discovered. They will then hike up a historic mountain trail that leads to a 2,000-year-old Iron Age fort at the top and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and wadis.

Qualified guides will talk about the interesting flora and fauna found in the area on the way up to Buhais. The trekking package is priced at AED 200 per adult and AED 100 per child (10 years old and above, accompanied by an adult). A minimum of two guests are required for the trek and limited to a maximum of 6 persons per trip.
