The forum, organised by the Legal Department of the Government of Sharjah in cooperation with the Judicial Council, was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council. Speaking to Sharjah24, Bin Nassar said Sheikh Sultan's patronage was the single greatest factor behind the event's success, alongside the presence of several ministers and senior officials from the government and judicial sectors.
Bin Nassar noted that despite being the first of its kind, the forum was packed with substance, featuring more than four discussion sessions bringing together leading academics, experts and specialists under the theme "Legislation and the Family: Integration that Preserves Values".
He said the UAE is a society determined to preserve its values and authenticity, which calls for continuous legislation that supports and strengthens the family's role in safeguarding those values. He added that the government spares no effort in backing society with flexible, appropriate legislation and targeted initiatives.
Bin Nassar expressed pride in the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, who he said has always taught that the individual, the family and the child form the foundation of society. He said the forum's theme was chosen as an extension of this vision, one also championed by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council.
Bin Nassar closed by wishing all participants success and thanking the organisers and everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this first edition of the Sharjah Legal Forum.
