The programme also helps them develop their capacity for responsibility and leadership. The workshops offered theoretical and practical content designed to suit the participants' needs and age group, while also considering the family's social environment, through interactive methods combining dialogue, application, and practical scenarios.
Speaking about the programme, Professor Nawal Al Hamdi, Director of the Social Welfare Department, said: “The ‘Sanad Al-Bait’ project represents one of the Foundation’s key empowerment initiatives. It stems from our belief in the importance of preparing children to become more aware of themselves and their roles within the family and society.
“Through the project’s concepts and practical workshops, we aim to equip them with skills that strengthen their self-confidence, decision-making abilities and sense of responsibility, while enabling them to deal with various life situations with awareness and composure.”
Nawal Al Hamdi added: “We are keen to make effective use of school holidays by intensifying high-quality programmes and workshops that meet the needs of our children and provide them with greater opportunities for learning, interaction and practical application.
“We also continue to develop the delivery of the ‘Sanad Al-Bait’ project in line with the needs of its target groups. This enhances its impact in developing well-rounded and socially aware individuals, supporting family stability and preparing our children to become active contributors to their families and influential members of their communities.”
Al Hamdi continued: “The ‘Sanad Al-Bait’ project is built around an integrated framework comprising 18 core concepts aimed at developing children’s character and preparing them to take on greater responsibilities. These include self-confidence and self-esteem, participatory leadership, collective decision-making, understanding family roles, emotional balance, critical thinking and reassessing beliefs.
“The project also covers a range of practical and life skills, including resource management, budgeting, problem-solving, self-motivation and effective communication.”
She said: “The project also emphasises the important role of families in ensuring the success of children’s empowerment journeys. It seeks to raise awareness of supportive family practices and foster an environment based on dialogue, understanding and cooperation.
“This positively contributes to children’s psychological and social development and strengthens their ability to deal consciously and effectively with the changes and responsibilities they encounter.”
The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) continues to develop and implement the ‘Sanad Al-Bait’ project as part of its comprehensive empowerment framework, based on the belief that empowering children today is an investment in family stability and in building a more aware and responsible generation capable of shaping its future with confidence.
