The initiative included the distribution of Eid gifts and sweets, along with entertainment vouchers that enabled children and their families to enjoy various leisure destinations and family activities during the Eid holiday. This contributed to strengthening family bonds and creating happy memories for the children.
The foundation also coordinated with a beauty centre to provide pre-Eid services and preparations for girls and women affiliated with the foundation, in a gesture aimed at helping them experience the joy and special atmosphere of Eid. In addition, the initiative included hosting professional coffee makers (baristas) in the homes of a number of beneficiary families, providing a unique interactive experience that brought family members together and added a touch of joy and hospitality to the festive atmosphere at home.
Her Excellency Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, said:
"The foundation is keen on ensuring that children and families have a share of joy, happiness and care on every occasion, enhancing their sense of belonging and reassurance. Eid carries deep humanitarian and social meanings, and through the 'Bringing Joy to Orphans' initiative, we strive to share meaningful moments with children and create experiences that leave a positive impact on their memories, reflecting positively on their sense of belonging and psychological well-being. This contributes to their emotional stability and overall well-being."
She added: "We believe that community solidarity is a key partner in bringing happiness to children. Therefore, we are keen to involve various institutions, entities and individuals in these initiatives, reflecting the values of giving and compassion that characterise UAE society and strengthening the spirit of social responsibility towards children and families. This gives them the opportunity to experience the festive atmosphere of Eid with all its joy and happiness."
The "Bringing Joy to Orphans" initiative targets children affiliated with the foundation through a range of programmes and activities implemented throughout the year and on various occasions. The initiative aims to enhance their quality of life, make them feel cared for and included, and instil humanitarian and social values that contribute to building positive memories and leaving a lasting impact on their lives.
