Sharjah24: The UAE will take part with four talented riders in the World Championships, scheduled to take place in Canada from 8 to 26 September, competing in the Under-23 and Junior categories. The participation forms part of a programme aimed at giving riders the opportunity to compete at an international level and gain valuable experience.

Mohammed Al Alili and Harib Al Marzouqi will represent the national team in the Under-23 category, while Saif Al Ghawi and Sultan Al Hammadi will compete in the Junior category, following a period of preparation ahead of upcoming international competitions.

International experience for young riders

In a statement issued today, the Federation said that participation in the World Championships forms part of a programme designed to give riders, particularly those in the Junior and Under-23 categories, the opportunity to compete at the highest international level and gain further experience by racing against some of the world's leading cyclists from various countries.

The national team riders recently completed an overseas training programme that included training sessions and participation in several races, aimed at improving their technical and physical readiness and reaching the best possible level before travelling to Canada for the World Championships.

Strengthening UAE presence at major championships

The championships represent an important stage in the national team's international programme, as the UAE Cycling Federation seeks to strengthen the presence of national teams at major championships and provide riders with strong competitive opportunities that help them gain experience and adapt to the different levels of international racing.
