Sharjah 24: Bahrain’s Dar Kulaib Club won the junior and youth titles at the second Kalba International Volleyball Championship for Youth, organised by Kalba Sports and Cultural Club and attended by Mohammed Obaid Al Hossan, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Sports Council.

Dar Kulaib defeated Kalba Sports and Cultural Club 3–2 in the finals of both age categories.

In the junior category, Kalba finished runners-up and claimed silver, while the Sharjah Sports Council team took bronze. In the youth category, Kalba also finished second, with the Sharjah Sports Council team again securing third place.

The closing ceremony was attended by Osama Qarqash, Vice President of the UAE Volleyball Federation, and Rashid Saeed bin Freish Al Kindi, Chairman of Kalba Club and the organising committee, along with board members and representatives of government entities.

The ceremony also featured the honouring of the winning teams, best players in various positions, and technical and administrative staff.

Al Kindi said the championship achieved its objectives through high technical standards, strong competition and sportsmanship, praising the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, as well as the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council and UAE Volleyball Federation.

He added that the success of the second edition would encourage further development of the championship, expressing hopes of organising stronger and more distinguished editions in the future.
