Sharjah 24: Mohammed Abdulhadi Al Shouka, member of the Technical Committee of the Kalba International Volleyball Championship for Youth, announced the launch of the second edition of the Kalba International Volleyball Championship for Youth, organised by Kalba Cultural and Sports Club and supported by the Sharjah Sports Council.

The competitions began on Thursday at the club’s halls, with the participation of a number of leading Gulf and local clubs, as part of efforts to raise technical standards and develop sporting talent through direct competition with teams from different backgrounds and experiences.

The second edition of the Kalba International Volleyball Championship for Youth kicked off on Thursday at Kalba Cultural and Sports Club, in the presence of Rashid Saeed bin Freish Al Kindi, Chairman of the Kalba Club Board of Directors, along with several board members, organisers and representatives of participating clubs.

Al Shouka said the current edition features notable participation from prominent Gulf clubs, including Dar Kulaib Club and Oman’s Sohar Club, alongside clubs from Sharjah. Two teams representing the Sharjah Sports Council are also taking part, in addition to two teams from Kalba Club.

The member of the Technical Committee of the Kalba International Volleyball Championship for Youth expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unwavering support for the sports sector.

He also praised the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council for its follow-up and continued commitment to the success of sporting events.

Speaking to “Sharjah 24,” Al Shouka explained that the championship aims to provide players with opportunities to exchange expertise and develop their technical and physical skills through competition with diverse sporting schools. This will help teams reach competitive levels that qualify them to challenge major clubs at regional and international levels, while seeking to take the championship towards broader and stronger horizons with each successive edition.
