University of Al Dhaid celebrates Emirati Women’s Day

Sharjah 24: The University of Al Dhaid celebrates Emirati Women’s Day 2026, held this year under the theme “We Emerge Stronger and Better”, adopted by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, (Mother of the Nation), Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. The theme reflects the spirit of Emirati women, who continue their journey with confidence and ambition while striving to achieve further accomplishments.

The occasion reaffirms the support Emirati women receive from the UAE’s wise leadership, as well as the support and empowerment extended by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to strengthen women’s role in development and community building.

On the occasion, Dr Aisha Abu Shlaibi, Chancellor of the University of Al Dhaid, said Emirati women have demonstrated their presence and leadership across various fields, contributing through their knowledge, competence and ambition to shaping the nation’s future.

She added that the university is proud of the pioneering achievements of Emirati women and their ability to overcome challenges and shape the future. At the University of Al Dhaid, she said, empowering women through education and knowledge is an investment in the nation’s future, and the university continues to support their ambitions and strengthen their academic and professional presence so they remain key partners in the journey of progress and prosperity.

The university chancellor noted that the “We Emerge Stronger and Better” theme embodies Emirati women’s ambition and determination to pursue excellence and contribute to society. It also reflects the strong support they receive from the wise leadership and its firm confidence in their ability to help build a more advanced and sustainable future.

The University of Al Dhaid continues its efforts to support and empower its female students and members, providing education and development opportunities that enhance their participation across various fields, driven by its belief in women’s role as key partners in building a sustainable knowledge-based society and a more prosperous future.
