The meeting aimed to inform them about the available and new majors offered, such as geology, as well as the services and resources the university provides to support their academic journey.
Dr Aisha Abu Shlaibi, Chancellor of the University of Al Dhaid, attended the orientation meeting for new students, along with deans of colleges and heads of various departments.
Dr Nadhir Ahmed Al Rawashdeh stated that the meeting provided an interactive platform for new students to communicate directly with academic and administrative leaders, ask their various questions about majors and programme transfer procedures, and learn about the university environment and available opportunities.
Speaking exclusively to “Sharjah 24,” Dr Nadhir Al Rawashdeh stated that the university has launched a new geology programme at the College of Environmental Sciences, which will be offered for the first time this semester. This initiative is part of the university's ongoing efforts to develop its educational system and meet the demands of the job market.
The Director of the Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning also noted that the university is implementing a comprehensive strategic plan for future expansion and development. This plan includes introducing new academic specialisations and constructing modern buildings and facilities for both the College of Agriculture and the College of Veterinary Medicine.
