Sharjah 24: The third round of the ADNOC Pro League kicks off, on Friday, running for three days and featuring seven matches, including two top clashes: Al Wasl vs Shabab Al Ahli and Al Ain vs Al Nasr.

The first of the two headline fixtures sees Al Wasl host Shabab Al Ahli at Zabeel Stadium on Friday.

The two sides have met 34 times in the Pro League, with Shabab Al Ahli recording 14 victories to Al Wasl’s 11, while nine matches have ended in draws.

Al Wasl go into the match in a confident mood after winning their opening two games of the season. They will be seeking to win their first three matches of a Pro League campaign for only the second time, having previously achieved the feat in the 2023-24 season.

Shabab Al Ahli have also made a perfect start with two wins and will be aiming to claim three victories from their opening three matches for the sixth time in their Pro League history.

Al Ain host Al Nasr

The second fixture takes place in Al Ain, hosting Al Nasr on Saturday, when Al Ain welcomes Al Nasr to Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

Al Ain have the stronger record in the sides’ Pro League meetings, winning 21 of their 34 encounters. Al Nasr have claimed eight victories, while five matches have ended in draws.

Al Ain have also won their opening two matches and will be looking to maintain their perfect start by securing a third consecutive victory. Such a result would see them begin a Pro League season with three successive wins for the seventh time.

Al Nasr, meanwhile, will be targeting their second victory of the campaign after defeating Al Wahda in the previous round. They opened the season with a draw against Kalba.

Five more fixtures complete round 3

Friday’s action begins with United taking on Kalba at Al Maktoum Stadium before Al Wasl meet Shabab Al Ahli at Zabeel Stadium.

Three matches are scheduled for Saturday. Al Jazira hosts Ajman at Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium, while Khorfakkan faces Al Dhafra at Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Stadium. The day concludes with Al Ain’s meeting with Al Nasr at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

The round concludes on Sunday with Hatta hosting Sharjah at Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium, followed by Al Wahda against Bani Yas at Al Nahyan Stadium.

With five teams having collected maximum points from their opening two matches, round 3 is set to provide another early test of the sides’ ambitions and momentum in the 2026-27 ADNOC Pro League season.
