Sweet season returns as Al Dhaid dates festival opens

Sharjah24: The 11th edition of the Souq Al Jubail Dates Festival has opened at Souq Al Jubail – Al Dhaid and will run until 14 September 2026. The annual festival offers visitors a seasonal experience celebrating Emirati heritage and the quality of locally grown produce, with a wide selection of premium fresh dates from across the UAE.

Celebrating Emirati dates and local produce

 

The festival showcases a diverse range of high-quality Emirati dates sourced from different regions of the country, highlighting the richness of local produce while supporting Emirati farmers during the harvest season. Visitors can also explore a variety of local products and enjoy the market’s lively traditional atmosphere.

 

Talal Mohammed, Director of Central Region Markets, said: “The Souq Al Jubail Dates Festival is a seasonal occasion that allows us to celebrate a product deeply rooted in Emirati heritage, while showcasing the quality and diversity of local produce. It also brings farmers and producers together with visitors, encouraging direct interaction and offering the public an authentic experience that captures the atmosphere of the dates season across the UAE.”

 

He added: “We are committed to providing visitors with a complete experience that combines product quality with the vibrant atmosphere of the market, while giving them the chance to discover a diverse selection of fresh Emirati dates. The festival also reflects our efforts to support Emirati farmers and promote local products during the harvest season.”

 

Souq Al Jubail – Al Dhaid is one of the projects of Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah.
