The tournament was held as part of the ‘Your Summer with Us 2026’ programme under the theme ‘Sportsmanship and Fair Play’, reinforcing sporting values and ethics and developing participants’ physical and technical skills in a competitive atmosphere that combined challenge and enjoyment.

Wasit Youth secured the title after defeating Al Dhaid Youth in the final at the Al Dhaid Youth Centre sports hall. The match was an intense contest that reflected the participants’ improving standard and their ability to make the most of scoring opportunities.

After the match ended 2-2 in normal time, Wasit Youth won 13-12 on penalties.

Both teams reached the final after winning their respective semi-finals. Wasit Youth defeated Kalba Youth 2-0, while Al Dhaid Youth overcame Khorfakkan Youth by the same score.

The two matches featured increasingly intense competition, culminating in the final that decided the cup winners.

The 17th edition featured 112 participants aged 13 to 18, representing the eight Sharjah Youth centres across the emirate: Wasit Youth, Al Dhaid Youth, Al Thameed Youth, Al Madam Youth, Mleiha Youth, Khorfakkan Youth, Kalba Youth and Al Dibba Al Hisn Youth.

The teams competed in a single-elimination format, with each tie decided by a single match.

The cup was part of a series of competitive tournaments organised by Sharjah Youth as part of its efforts to diversify the sporting experiences available to participants.

The programme aims to identify promising young futsal talent, improve physical fitness and develop movement skills, and enable participants to implement tactical plans and make quick decisions during matches. These efforts support their ongoing sporting development and help prepare them for opportunities with sports clubs and for competition at local and international levels.

Throughout the tournament, sportsmanship and fair play remained central to the experience, reinforcing values such as respect for opponents, adherence to the rules and personal responsibility.

The tournament's conclusion reflected Sharjah Youth's approach to delivering high-quality experiences that help build well-rounded personalities, combining sporting ambition with strong ethical values.
