Sharjah 24: Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Girls, both part of the Quarter Century Foundation for Developing Leaders and Innovators, have concluded the Leadership Horizons programme, which was held in partnership with the Quarter Century Centre for Life Skills.

The closing ceremony took place on Thursday at Sajaya Girls in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Director General of the Quarter Century Foundation for Developing Leaders and Innovators.

Building young leadership skills

The six-day programme brought together more than 40 participants aged between 13 and 15. It was designed to strengthen their leadership and management abilities while encouraging innovative thinking and greater engagement with their communities.

Abdulhamid Al Yasi, Deputy Director of Sharjah Youth, said the participants took part in an intensive training experience covering a range of practical skills, including emotional intelligence, self-awareness, positive communication, team management and leadership, crisis management and innovative thinking.

Eight community initiatives

Speaking to “Sharjah 24”, Al Yasi said the programme resulted in eight community initiatives developed by the participants to address real-life challenges and respond to pressing community needs.

The young participants presented their projects and ideas to the public through dedicated exhibition platforms ahead of the closing ceremony. The presentations highlighted the practical benefits of the programme and the clear progress the participants had made in their presentation, leadership and problem-solving skills.

The programme forms part of ongoing efforts to equip young people with the skills and confidence needed to take initiative, develop innovative solutions and play a meaningful role in their communities.
