Located in the Foundation’s Bank Street Building, the SAF Reference Library houses more than 5,000 holdings, including books, exhibition catalogues, art magazines, digital archives, architectural projects and audiovisual materials.
The collection also features rare exhibition catalogues from the Foundation and other institutions, as well as specialist books and journals covering social sciences, history, philosophy and cultural studies, offering valuable context for artistic research and projects.
The Foundation invites artists, art practitioners, researchers, university students and anyone with an interest in art and culture to become library members.
The free membership offers opportunities to research, learn and engage with a vibrant community shaped by art and cultural exchange. Reflecting the Foundation’s curatorial vision, the library’s holdings will continue to expand alongside its programmes and initiatives.
Members can access the library from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, by presenting their digital membership cards to the security guard on the ground floor.
The Foundation also organises regular events to introduce members to specialised library services, research support and learning opportunities.
Free membership provides access to monthly curated highlights from the collection, featuring books and digital resources that support individual research interests and artistic practice.
Members can also benefit from one-on-one consultation sessions with the library team and, where relevant, other Foundation departments.
Additional benefits include access to the Curator’s Shelf—a selection of materials that have shaped the curatorial thinking and artistic narratives behind the Foundation’s exhibitions—as well as digital scanning support for selected materials, subject to copyright restrictions.
