During her speech to Sharjah24 , Lama invites participants to explore the city through its architectural, historical and social layers, using photographs, maps, documents and oral histories that reveal Sharjah's features and the transformations it has undergone over the years. The workshop is presented by Sultan Al Hussein Al Hammadi, Director of Projects, Restoration and Properties at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage.
Al Takrouri explained that the workshop forms part of the "Semi-Systematic – An Alternative School" programme organised by the Sharjah Art Foundation. The programme provides a platform for participants to exchange ideas and engage with a wide range of topics related to art and culture through critical reading, collaborative exercises, and intellectual and artistic discussions.
She affirmed that the workshop focuses on visual literacy and artistic research methodologies, with the aim of deepening understanding of the role of art in culture and exploring the relationship between theory and practice.
