Sharjah24: Artist Laila Majid invites visitors to explore the intersection of art, everyday life and public interaction through her contributions to Body Quotidian, an exhibition currently on display at Gallery 6 in collaboration with curator Roja Khalid and artist Inaam Zafar.

Speaking to Sharjah 24, Laila Majid said the exhibition features seven of her artworks spanning sculpture and photography, including two outdoor installations designed to engage with the environment and its inhabitants.

“One of the outdoor works is a broken umbrella covered in concrete,” Laila Majid explained. “I wanted to create a sculpture that could also function as a bird bath, allowing birds in the courtyard to drink and bathe.”

She added that another sculpture installed on a nearby tree was created with local cats in mind, providing a playful element within the grounds of Sharjah Art Foundation.

In addition to the outdoor pieces, Majid's work inside the gallery includes a selection of sculptures and photographic works, offering visitors a diverse artistic experience.

“There are seven artworks of mine in the exhibition across sculpture and photography,” she said. She affirmed that the exhibition "Body Quotidian" will remain open to the public until September 20 to grab visitors' attention to her creative artworks.
