Sharjah 24: The 2026 Sharjah Summer Recreational Scout Camp has officially opened at the Sharjah Scout Mission headquarters under the theme “Our Children and Summer”. Running until 30 July, the camp aims to make productive use of young people’s summer holidays by equipping them with valuable skills and meaningful experiences.

The programme offers a comprehensive range of activities, led by artificial intelligence workshops designed to develop participants’ digital and technological skills. It also includes sports and recreational activities to promote fitness and wellbeing, artistic sessions that encourage creativity and innovation, core scouting activities, and educational field visits to a number of major organisations and institutions.

The camp is being delivered through strategic partnerships with several prominent organisations, including Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau represented by Sharjah24, Emirates News Agency (WAM), and other media organisations across the UAE. Additional partners include the Sajaya and Rubu’ Qarn youth centres administration, Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, Sharjah Municipality, the Sharjah Department of Public Works, and the organisations hosting the educational visits.

Marking the launch of the camp, Nasser Obaid Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Scout Association, International Commissioner, Chairman of the Sharjah Scout Mission, and patron of the summer programme, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to raising an informed and innovative generation equipped with modern skills and scouting values. He added that the theme “Our Children and Summer” highlights the shared social responsibility of investing in young people’s potential by providing a safe, educational, and engaging environment that helps them develop future-ready skills. He also praised the strong support and partnerships with government bodies, media organisations, and institutions across Sharjah, which have contributed to the success of the youth initiative.
