The opening ceremony was attended by a number of club officials, including His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club; His Excellency Rashid Abdullah Al Muhayyan; His Excellency Malik Musbeh Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Marketing and Investment Committee; His Excellency Saif bin Dalwan Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee; and Muhair Obaid Al Khayal Al Tunaiji, Executive Director, along with parents, supervisors, and organisers.
The first day included welcoming the participants and organising them into groups under the supervisors, providing breakfast, and distributing the official uniforms. This was followed by the opening ceremony, which included the national anthem, a recitation from the Holy Quran, and a welcoming speech delivered by His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who spoke about the importance of the activity.
The initiative aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at preparing a generation equipped with knowledge, skills, and a strong national identity, through a safe and stimulating educational and recreational environment.
Following this, Muhair Obaid Al Khayal Al Tunaiji, the club's Executive Director, outlined the programme's themes and activities. He explained that the programme includes sports and recreational activities, educational and cultural trips, and Emirati traditions programmes that reinforce national identity and authentic values. It also features a series of workshops on innovation and artificial intelligence, as well as awareness lectures.
Mohammed Mu'adhd Huwaidin, representing the summer participants, delivered a speech thanking the board of directors for the programme and expressing his and his colleagues' satisfaction with the way they had spent their time. Afterwards, the supervisors organised competitions and traditional games for the participants, which saw significant engagement.
Khalifa Mubarak, Head of the Cultural and Community Development Committee, noted that the programme represents a comprehensive model for the positive use of the summer vacation and reflects the club's commitment to supporting the Sharjah Sports Council's vision of preparing a generation with the necessary skills and knowledge for the future. He indicated that the activities will continue until August 1st and include various programmes. A daily morning that combines learning, fun, and creativity.
