The Park was commissioned to meet requirements set by Al Madam's municipal council. Once finished, it will include 922 metres of decorative fencing broken by four gates, each five metres wide; a 950-square-metre children's play area; a football pitch; a services building with toilets; and a guard's room. Contractors are also laying 3,200 square metres of concrete paving, 1,700 metres of concrete kerbstone, and 50 decorative lighting poles standing 4.5 metres tall.
Al Thuqaibah Park handed over
Separately, SDPW has finished Al Thuqaibah Park, also in Al Madam, as part of its wider push to expand public facilities and improve residents' quality of life through integrated recreational space.
The project covers roughly 9,000 square metres and was designed to balance appearance with function, giving visitors a comfortable, secure environment. It includes a football pitch, a gate building housing a guard's room and a supervisor's room, a toilet block, a services building, and 396 metres of external fencing for site security.
Sixteen benches have been installed for visitors, along with 2,375 square metres of paved walkways and directional signage to help manage movement around the site. Modern lighting allows the park to be used in the evening, while a new irrigation network will keep its green areas maintained. Utility relocation work was carried out to DPW's usual technical standards.
DPW kept the shops standing in the middle of the plot running throughout construction, ensuring they stayed open without disrupting the park's design or how it functions day to day.
The two projects demonstrate DPW's commitment to sustainable infrastructure and integrated public facilities to promote a healthier lifestyle and enhance Al Madam's urban environment.
