Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) has released the 13th issue of its quarterly Omran magazine, highlighting urban development projects and quality-of-life initiatives. The edition features the Social Empowerment Foundation building in Muzairah, the Photography Museum in Al Manakh, updates on major infrastructure projects, and reports on community initiatives, while inviting staff to contribute to the next issue.

The Sharjah Public Works Department has officially released the 13th issue of Omran, its quarterly magazine focused on urban development and the quality of urban life. Published by the department’s Corporate Communications Centre, this latest edition introduces a refreshed design that blends editorial depth with rich visual content.

A primary feature of the issue spotlights the Social Empowerment Foundation building in Muzairah, describing it as "an architectural achievement befitting humanity." Spanning 6,500 square meters, this facility offers an integrated environment for economic empowerment, social support, and community activities, with the magazine noting that it was designed to be a vibrant, safe, spacious, and supportive space for its beneficiaries rather than just a service facility.

The issue also delivers comprehensive coverage of the department’s major achievements and activities over the past period, including its special recognition by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah for helping secure the inscription of the Al Faya site on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Additionally, the publication highlights progress on major regional projects such as the expansion of Sharjah International Airport, the College of Music, and Kalba University, alongside a variety of community and professional workshops. A special report explores the new Photography Museum in the Al Manakh area, a cultural landmark featuring photography studios, darkrooms, exhibition halls, and specialized nitrogen storage facilities for preserving artifacts. The report highlights that the museum is a valuable addition to Sharjah's cultural landscape, reflecting the government's commitment to supporting arts and artists.

Furthermore, this edition includes an in-depth report on how the wastewater project in the Al Suwaihat and Al Ramakiya areas has improved local quality of life and reduced water accumulation. It also features its regular sections, such as Faces of Art, Buds of Art, My Language, My Identity, Panorama of Areas, and Pen and Brush. This issue was edited by Mariam Al Mazmi and Dr. Nawzad Jaadan, with art direction by Aisha Al Marzouqi, presenting a renewed visual identity that pairs editorial precision with the magazine’s distinct artistic style. To conclude, the editorial team has invited department employees to contribute to the upcoming 14th issue by submitting articles, drawings, short studies, or children's photographs for the Buds of Art section.
