The lecture addressed the concept of living labs as interactive environments that integrate knowledge and practical experience, fostering the development of innovative solutions by involving users and stakeholders at various stages of design, development, and evaluation. It also highlighted the importance of these labs in supporting institutions and enabling them to keep pace with rapid changes in work and education environments.
The lecture aimed to introduce the most prominent concepts related to living labs and their role in promoting institutional innovation, and to shed light on their contribution to building modern learning environments that stimulate creativity and collaborative thinking.
The lecture also discussed the role of living labs in creating spaces for learning, fostering creativity, and promoting collaborative thinking. The lecturer also reviewed several successful models and experiences at the regional and international levels, which demonstrated the effectiveness of living labs in developing services and improving the quality of institutional outputs.
Dr Saif Al Naqbi, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs at UKF, attended the event and praised the importance of these scientific initiatives in advancing knowledge and strengthening partnerships between academic and professional institutions, thereby serving the goals of sustainable development and aligning with the UAE's innovation strategy.
At the conclusion of the lecture, Mr Ahmed Al Mushtaghel, a member of ELIA’s Board of Directors, presented an award to UKF in recognition of its hosting and support for this scientific event, commending its ongoing cooperation in hosting specialised knowledge activities and programmes.
Mr Ismail Abdullah Touq Ibrahim was also honoured for his scholarly contributions and insightful participation, which enriched attendees' knowledge and deepened their understanding of institutional innovation and modern learning environments. Participants praised the lecture's scientific content and the practical ideas and experiences it presented, which contribute to developing institutional practices and fostering a culture of innovation.
