Sharjah 24: The Emirates Creative Association, in collaboration with the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, organized a forum on Monday entitled “Creative Minds for a Sustainable Future.” The forum brought together a select group of academics and experts in the fields of media, technology, and health to discuss ways to empower young minds to contribute to building a future based on creativity and sustainability.

In his opening remarks, Dr Faisal Shaheen Al Hammadi, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Creative Association, emphasized that creativity is not an option but a national necessity. He pointed out that nations that cultivate creativity reap leadership, and that the UAE, under the vision of its wise leadership, is striving to become a global model in empowering innovators and building a sustainable future.

He added that the forum embodies the association's deep belief in the role of creativity in human development and in establishing the values of innovation as a fundamental pillar of comprehensive development. He explained that creative education is the cornerstone of any ambitious national project, and that knowledge does not bear fruit unless it is transformed into creativity, and creativity does not flourish unless it finds a nurturing environment that transforms it into tangible achievements. He pointed out that partnerships between educational and community institutions represent a crucial bridge towards preparing new generations to be shapers of the future, not mere spectators. He affirmed that the association will continue its efforts to support initiatives that discover, refine, and empower talents to actively contribute to serving the nation. He explained that the forum is not just an annual event, but a sustainable national project to establish a culture of creativity as an institutional and human value.

For his part, Dr Yahya Al Ansari, Executive Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, expressed his pride in collaborating with the Emirates Creativity Association, emphasizing that creative minds are the nation's true wealth. He affirmed that the colleges' role is to provide an educational environment that empowers students to explore the horizons of innovation and creative thinking, enabling them to lead change rather than merely be affected by it. He added that the forum embodies the colleges' commitment to supporting the nation's efforts to strengthen the knowledge economy and empower youth within the framework of national development.

The forum featured a series of panel discussions and interactive presentations addressing topics such as the creative economy, sustainability, educational technologies, talent and creativity strategies, and social innovation.

Dr Bilal Ahmed, a lecturer at the Higher Colleges of Technology, discussed the creative economy and the role of innovative media in fostering a knowledge-based economy. Dr Sharmila Siddhartha covered green computing projects and the role of educational technology in sustainability. Dr Enrico Magosso shared his vision for building creative minds through education and partnerships. Dr Twanna Menzies-Thompson addressed social creativity and the impact of innovative ideas on quality of life.

At the forum's conclusion, Dr Faisal Shaheen Al Hammadi presented a plaque to Dr Yahya Al Ansari for his support of creative initiatives. Dr. Al Ansari recognized Dr Al Hammadi for promoting creativity, innovation, and sustainability, while all speakers were acknowledged for their contributions.

The forum concluded with a set of recommendations calling for enhanced collaboration between educational and community institutions and support for student innovation through projects that connect education, technology, and human creativity, in line with the UAE's vision of building a more sustainable and prosperous future.
