Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Human Resources recently organized an important discussion session focused on how to evaluate employee performance. This event brought together representatives from various government agencies in the Eastern Region and was held at the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services Theater in Khorfakkan.

The main goal of the session was to explore the different steps involved in the performance evaluation process. Participants discussed the challenges they face when implementing these evaluations and shared ideas to improve them. The aim is to make the appraisal system more transparent and fairer for everyone involved.

During the session, the department's team covered a variety of topics. They explained how to set clear performance goals, known as SMART objectives, and how to assess whether these goals are being met through evidence and observations. They also talked about how to evaluate employees' behavioral skills and provided real-life examples to help illustrate these points.

The session identified common difficulties that government agencies encounter when conducting performance evaluations and offered practical solutions. Additionally, it clarified the roles of those responsible for conducting appraisals and shared successful strategies that have helped improve the quality of evaluations and their outcomes.
