SIH in Dibba Al Hisn organizes the "Emirati House" program

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Institute for Heritage, in collaboration with the Dibba Al Hisn Youth, hosted a two-day program called "Emirati House" at their center in Dibba Al Hisn. The goal of this program was to introduce young people to the rich customs and traditions of Emirati culture, helping them appreciate and embrace their national identity.

Connecting generations

The program included two engaging talks. The first, titled "Authenticity of the Past... Identity of the Present," focused on the skills involved in traditional Emirati crafts and how these reflect important values in everyday life. The second talk, called "With Every Piece of Art, a Story," examined traditional Emirati clothing, highlighting its cultural significance and what it reveals about the community's identity.

Hands-On activities and fun

Participants enjoyed live demonstrations of traditional Emirati games, and they also took part in a hands-on workshop called "Al-Leikh." This workshop allowed the youth to actively explore Emirati heritage, helping them feel connected to their culture and take pride in its traditions.

Promoting emirati values

Throughout the event, there was an emphasis on important Emirati values such as tolerance, unity, kindness, respect, and responsibility. These values are essential not only to individual identity but also to the community’s progress and contributions in various areas.

At the end of the program, the youth actively participated and expressed their pride in Emirati heritage. They highlighted the importance of preserving these traditions and passing them down to future generations, ensuring they remain a vital part of the nation’s identity and cultural history.
