The programme airs weekly, every Thursday at 9:30 PM. It is presented and prepared by Professor Dr Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Advisor to the President of the University of Sharjah (UOS), Member of its Board of Trustees, and Director of the Sharjah Academy For Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology (SAASST), with the assistance of producer Muhammad Sulaiman Youssef, the commentary writer, and the commentary reading by Ahmed Muhammad Al Jasmi, and directed by Adam Al Samadi.
The new programme focuses on highlighting Earth as a home for humanity and living creatures of all kinds, explaining how God created it to be a safe haven for life in all its forms. It also reviews the natural and geological phenomena that make Earth a livable environment. The programme draws on a number of Quranic verses to explain numerous scientific phenomena, highlighting the close relationship between cosmic verses and natural sciences.
The programme addresses the role of the Earth's atmosphere and magnetism in protecting living organisms. It also highlights the role of the sun, moon, and other planets in the stability and balance of the Earth, explaining how these celestial bodies have contributed to the continuation of life on our planet.
The programme not only highlights the ingenious system that governs this planet, but also discusses the development of modern technology and the danger of its misuse to harm the Earth through wars and pollution, sending a message of awareness to preserve this planet.
Dr Mona Abdel Aziz Al Radmi, Programme Director at Sharjah TV, emphasised that the programme "Mother Earth" falls within the channel's approach to providing purposeful content that combines scientific knowledge with religious values, highlighting the greatness of divine creation and the precision of the laws governing the Earth.
Al Radmi added: "We believe that such programmes contribute to raising public awareness, especially among young people, about the importance of protecting our planet and conserving its natural resources. We are proud that this programme is presented by Professor Dr Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, a prominent scientific figure who needs no introduction and who will greatly benefit the public."
