Dibba Al Hisn Sports Club holds emergency evacuation drill
Sharjah 24: As part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of readiness and safety for athletes, staff, and personnel during the 2025–2026 sports season, Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club organised an awareness and training exercise in collaboration with the Eastern Region Civil Defence Department. The session, titled “Evacuation Procedures and Protocols in Emergency Situations,” was part of the club’s annual plan to strengthen safety culture within the workplace.

Theoretical training focuses on awareness and preparedness

The training targeted all club employees — administrative, technical, and operational — and was conducted by Assistant Officer Ahmed Mohammed Hammadi and First Assistant Rashid Mohammed Al Dhahouri from the Civil Defence Department. The theoretical component addressed the importance of early awareness of evacuation procedures and detailed the correct steps to take during emergencies such as fires or sudden incidents. Participants also learned about the safe use of firefighting equipment, the importance of knowing the locations of extinguishers and emergency exits, and the roles of internal emergency teams to ensure rapid intervention when needed.

Practical evacuation drill tests staff readiness

In the practical phase, a live evacuation exercise was carried out at the club’s facilities to measure response speed, adherence to safety instructions, and coordination levels. The drill demonstrated increasing awareness among athletes and staff of the importance of teamwork and discipline in responding to emergencies, reinforcing a culture of collective responsibility and preparedness.

Commitment to safety and continuous improvement

This exercise reflects Dibba Al Hisn Sports Club’s dedication to aligning with best practices in occupational safety and its ongoing efforts to provide a secure, risk-free working environment. The club’s annual training programmes aim to enhance the skills of all personnel and ensure compliance with national safety standards, underscoring its role as a responsible sports, cultural, and community institution that prioritises the wellbeing of its members and visitors.
