Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC), represented by the Patrols Department and the Security Media Department, launched a field awareness campaign aimed at reducing random parking around mosques, especially during Friday prayers.

Lieutenant Colonel Marzouq Khalfan Al Naqbi, Director of the Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, explained that the campaign was launched based on field and traffic observations that revealed instances of random parking and the resulting congestion and obstruction of traffic. He noted that Sharjah Police adopted an awareness-raising approach to curb these behaviours by distributing warning leaflets to violating vehicles bearing the message, "Parking behind vehicles causes traffic congestion and wastes the time of others."

Ongoing efforts to enhance traffic awareness

Al Naqbi emphasised that the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to enhance traffic awareness and instil a culture of adherence to traffic laws. He explained that traffic discipline is a civilised behaviour that reflects an individual's respect for society.

Sharjah Police called on drivers to park properly and avoid stopping behind other vehicles or in undesignated areas, stressing that compliance with traffic regulations reflects awareness and responsibility, contributing to smooth traffic flow and the safety of road users.
