Sharjah24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), through its scholarship programme, wrapped up its participation in the seventh edition of the University Specialisations Fair, organised by Sharjah Public Libraries at the Sharjah Book Authority. The four-day event attracted numerous local and international universities, colleges, and educational institutions, targeting high school students, parents, and others seeking higher education opportunities.

Amina Al Owais, Director of the Scholarship Programme at SEWA, explained that the exhibition showcased the authority’s distinguished scholarships for high-achieving Emirati students, aimed at supporting local talent and enabling them to study at leading universities.

Engaging students and parents directly

The participation focused on direct engagement with high school students and their parents, introducing the programme’s higher education opportunities at top institutions such as University of Sharjah and American University of Sharjah, across various fields that meet the needs of the labour market in the emirate and across the UAE.

The SEWA pavilion saw significant interest from students. The team provided guidance on eligibility criteria, covered specialisations, application procedures, and required documents, emphasising the role of quality education as a foundation for sustainable development.

Investing in future talent

The scholarship programme represents a strategic investment in human capital, preparing qualified national professionals to play a pivotal role in building a sustainable future for Sharjah and the UAE, particularly in technical and engineering fields relevant to SEWA.

The University Specialisations Fair offers a unique platform for students to explore academic and career pathways interactively through workshops and guidance sessions, helping them develop skills and clear visions for their scientific and professional future.
