Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, senior officials, diplomatic representatives, and leading figures from the gold and jewellery trade sector. The attendees visited stands from prominent sponsors such as Al Romaizan Gold and Jewellery, the exhibition’s diamond sponsor, and Salem Al Shueibi Jewellery, the platinum sponsor, to discover their exclusive designs. One of the standout attractions was the “Emirati Goldsmiths” Platform, showcasing Emirati designers with dazzling collections that combine craftsmanship with cultural authenticity.
Among the key highlights of this year’s edition is the exclusive showcase by Al Romaizan Gold and Jewellery, which unveiled the “Dubai Dress,” recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's heaviest dress made from pure 21-karat gold. Weighing 10.0812 kilograms and valued at AED 4.6 million, the dress includes a crown, necklace, earrings, and “Hiyar” piece, all meticulously crafted from gold.
His Excellency Abdallah Sultan Al Owais remarked that the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show reinforces the UAE’s position as a global hub for gold and precious metals trade. He praised the exhibition for consistently drawing major international brands, manufacturers, and designers, making it a prime venue for networking, deal-making, and investment opportunities.
This edition of the exhibition boasts a significant international presence, with over 68% of exhibitors coming from outside the UAE. Countries such as Australia, Myanmar, and Pakistan are participating for the first time. Renowned international brands and designers from Italy, India, the UK, the US, Japan, China, and more are showcasing their latest collections. The exhibition also features strong participation from regional players, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Lebanon.
The "Emirati Goldsmiths" Platform continues to make a strong impact, showcasing the talents of young Emirati designers. Launched by the Sharjah Chamber, the platform empowers local talent by giving them the opportunity to present creations that blend traditional UAE heritage with modern design trends.
The opening day saw a remarkable turnout of visitors eager to explore exclusive collections of gold, fine jewellery, diamonds, gemstones, and luxury timepieces. The exhibition also provides a unique opportunity for attendees to acquire rare and exquisite jewellery pieces from leading international jewellery houses.
Beyond the exhibitions, the event features specialized workshops, live shows, and interactive competitions on gold and jewellery design. Visitors can also participate in grand prize draws, with the chance to win an Audi A3 car and luxury gold and diamond sets, with winners to be announced at the close of the exhibition.
