Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command is intensifying its proactive efforts to ensure a safe and secure traffic environment as part of its broader vision to improve the quality of life for all residents. A recent field campaign by the Central Region Police Department resulted in the seizure of 100 vehicles and 40 motorcycles with illegal modifications that posed safety risks and disturbed the public.

Emphasis on public safety and awareness

Brigadier Ibrahim Musabah Al Ajil, Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations, affirmed that these campaigns align with Sharjah Police’s strategy to enhance public safety. He noted that the aim goes beyond enforcement—it includes educating the public and correcting behaviors that negatively impact society.

Campaign coverage and enforcement strategy

Brigadier Khalifa Al Khasouni, Director of the Central Region Department, stated that the campaign was carried out in multiple areas of the Central Region using both fixed checkpoints and mobile patrols. The focus was on identifying and penalising illegally modified vehicles that compromise community peace and road safety.

Community call to action

Sharjah Police reiterated that unauthorized vehicle modifications—particularly those causing excessive noise—are violations that disturb public peace and endanger road users. The force urged all drivers to follow traffic laws and contribute to public safety by adopting responsible driving behaviors that reflect community awareness and shared responsibility.
