SCHS creates hope by employing people with disabilities

Sharjah24: Mohammed Abdul Redaa Shalwani, Head of the Employment Department at Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) , reported that the SCHS continuously strives to support and empower individuals with disabilities through comprehensive programmes that enhance their integration into the workforce, in collaboration with various entities and institutions.

The role of families in creating inclusive employment opportunities

Shalwani, in a statement to "Sharjah 24" during the session titled "The Role of Families and Communities in Creating Inclusive Employment " at the Global Congress "We Are Inclusion ," currently held at the Expo Centre Sharjah, explained that the SCHS regularly offers training courses for private entities and companies to familiarize them with effective cooperation and integration mechanisms for people with disabilities in the labor market. Additionally, programmes directed at families are provided to enable them to prepare their children for employment and equip them with skills that help them enter suitable work environments.

 

Training and awareness initiatives for families

The Head of the Employment Department emphasised that the SCHS will continue its efforts to provide the best opportunities for individuals with disabilities, whether through partnerships with the private sector or through training and awareness initiatives for families and community members, achieving the emirate's vision of supporting sustainable inclusion and empowerment.

 

Pioneering role in enhancing rights of individuals with intellectual disabilities

Shalwani praised the pioneering role of the Global Congress "We Are Inclusion ," organised by Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services in collaboration with the International Inclusion at the Expo Centre Sharjah, in promoting the rights of individuals with intellectual disabilities and empowering them socially, educationally, and legally, with the participation of self-advocates, families, and experts from 74 countries around the world.
