Sharjah 24: Leela Raj, the CEO of Yash Charitable Trust in Mumbai, participated in the 18th World Congress 2025 "We Are Inclusion," held at Expo Centre Sharjah and organized by Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. During this event, she represented Keystone Human Services, an organization focused on helping people with disabilities. Leela spoke about the importance of teaching individuals with disabilities how to express themselves confidently and share their thoughts.

The self-advocacy movement is gaining momentum in India, with many organizations working to empower people with disabilities. Smaller groups are providing training to help individuals learn how to voice their opinions and stand up for themselves.

In an interview with “Sharjah 24,” Leela mentioned that Keystone Human Services has created workshops aimed at individuals who may have difficulty communicating verbally. These workshops include various activities designed to help participants learn how to advocate for themselves, which cover important skills like speaking assertively, understanding personal boundaries, and clearly expressing their needs.
