Sharjah 24: At the World Congress 2025 "We Are Inclusion" held at Expo Centre Sharjah, Dr Samia Saleh, Headmaster of AlWafa School for Capacity Development, part of the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, shared inspiring success stories about people with disabilities around the world who have successfully integrated into society and education. During the "Experiences in Inclusive Education" session, Omar Al Shami, a media student at the Higher Colleges of Technology, and another student named Maram talked about their educational journeys and achievements. Dr Samia also highlighted the crucial role that parents play in supporting their children to succeed.

In an interview with “Sharjah 24,” Dr Samia mentioned that the session brought together parents, students, and experts, showing that teamwork is essential for helping children with disabilities integrate into society effectively. She pointed out that the stories shared demonstrate that successful integration is possible.

However, she also acknowledged that there are challenges. Many schools are not fully equipped to support students with intellectual disabilities, and there may be a lack of necessary supportive services. Dr Samia stressed the importance of listening to parents’ suggestions to improve the situation.
