Pre-event workshops for Sharjah Storyteller Forum 25

The Sharjah Institute for Heritage – Dibba Al-Hisn branch, in collaboration with the International School of Storytelling, organised a series of pre-event workshops in anticipation of the 25th edition of the Sharjah International Storyteller Forum, held this year under the theme “Tales of Travellers”.

Knowledge and creativity

The workshops offered a mix of creative and educational activities, including “Write a Traveller’s Tale”, led by author Hind Al Khalidi and inspired by traditional folk stories, and “ A Cartoon Traveller”, where participants brought their ideas to life through visual storytelling.

Inspiration from global journeys
The programme also featured showcases of stories from renowned travellers, including the famous Emirati navigator Ahmed bin Majid, which served as a source of inspiration for participants to document tales in innovative ways.

Preserving heritage through storytelling
These workshops reflect the Institute’s commitment to engaging diverse community groups in the forum’s activities, raising awareness of the value of folk storytelling, and highlighting its role in preserving cultural identity and safeguarding heritage.
