Dr Al Tunaiji opened the meeting at the association’s headquarters in Sharjah by emphasising the role of women, noting that the nation’s celebration of women highlights their significant position across various fields, including culture.
He praised the contribution of women in supporting the association’s mission and promoting the Arabic language in society through active participation in initiatives and activities.
The board reviewed the summer programmes held during August 2025, some of which took place in person at the association’s premises, while others were conducted online. All received positive engagement from participants. Members praised the organisation of these programmes, recognising their role in establishing the association as an effective cultural and educational platform and an attractive space for talents and Arabic language enthusiasts.
The board approved the association’s participation in the next edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, a leading cultural event that brings together creators and knowledge enthusiasts from within the UAE and beyond. Members stressed that this year’s participation should be active and impactful, including interactive workshops and activities highlighting the importance of the Arabic language to diverse age groups. The meeting also noted the approval of Zayed Library to collaborate with the association on a comprehensive year-round cultural programme, reflecting confidence in the association’s role and partnerships.
The board discussed the launch of the new issue of Al-Arabiya magazine, presented in a renewed format reflecting development and modernisation. The issue includes diverse topics and content aligned with readers’ interests and highlights the association’s mission in serving the Arabic language.
The board emphasised that the new issue represents a qualitative shift in both form and content, enhancing the magazine’s media and cultural presence and bringing it closer to readers. Members praised the editorial team, especially Editor-in-Chief Mr. Mohammed Shuaib Al Hammadi, for their meticulous work in presenting the magazine in a refreshed format befitting the association’s status and mission.
The board concluded by underlining the importance of enhancing teamwork and activating the role of various committees within the association. This approach supports the implementation of strategic goals and reinforces the position of the Arabic language as a vessel of national identity, a pillar of culture, and a unifying platform for future generations.
