The symposium will be held over two consecutive days at the Muntada main headquarters in Samnan, with the participation of a select group of academics, researchers, and specialists in Sharia and legal sciences.
This symposium is part of Al Muntada Al Islami cultural and intellectual efforts to enhance community awareness of contemporary issues and link them to a sound Sharia approach. This will contribute to keeping pace with global technological transformations from an Islamic perspective.
The first day's programme includes two main themes. Professor Fatima Ali Al Hattawi will deliver a lecture entitled "Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications in Sharia Sciences," presenting the prospects for employing modern technology in Sharia studies and the challenges it poses to jurists and researchers.
Professor Abdul Aziz Saleh Saeed will also deliver a lecture on "Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Law and Judicial Systems," reviewing the implications of AI for the legal and judicial system and its role in developing institutional work mechanisms.
On the second day, Dr. Omar Al Jumaili will discuss "The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Jurisprudence and Fatwa," emphasising the importance of regulating the use of these tools in line with the objectives of Islamic law and the role of scholars in guiding their course.
The symposium concludes with a lecture by Engineer Maher Mohammed Al Mughmara entitled "Ethics of Using Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research," in which he highlights the ethical guidelines for utilising modern technologies in the academic field and the importance of researchers' commitment to scientific responsibility when employing them.
Dr. Ahmed Al Ketbi, Head of the Media Department at Al Muntada Al Islami, emphasised that the symposium falls within the framework of Al Muntada Al Islami support for Sharia research efforts. He said that "Artificial intelligence represents a unique tool that can contribute to the development of research and study methods in Sharia sciences, provided it is employed in accordance with Sharia and ethical standards that preserve the objectives of Sharia.
Al Ketbi added that Al Muntada Al Islami is committed to providing knowledge platforms that contribute to enriching the scientific arena and support researchers in keeping pace with technological developments through a sound scientific discourse that combines authenticity and modernity.
Al Ketbi confirmed that the symposium is part of its cultural plan aimed at strengthening Sharjah's position as a hub of scientific and intellectual influence. He noted that the invitation is open to the public, and certificates of participation will be awarded to attendees in recognition of their interest and participation.
Through this distinguished event, Al Muntada Al Islami in Sharjah continues its mission to disseminate contemporary Islamic culture and provide intellectual and scientific platforms that combine authenticity and modernity, in line with the emirate's vision to consolidate knowledge and build an informed society.
