Sharjah 24: During its first meeting of the first regular session of the 21st annual session of 2025, the Dibba Al Hisn Municipal Council reviewed the projects being implemented in Dibba Al Hisn and directed their rapid completion and upgrading to serve residents and citizens, in coordination with all government agencies in Sharjah.
This came during the first meeting held by the Council at its headquarters, in implementation of the provisions of Emiri Decree No. 47 of 2025 issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, regarding the invitation of the emirate's municipal councils to convene for the first regular session of the 21st annual session.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Yarouf Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Dibba Al Hisn Municipal Council, in the presence of His Excellency Talib Abdullah Al Yahyai, Director of Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, all members of the Council, and the Council Secretary.
Support to the emirate’s councils
The Council Chairman opened the meeting with a speech in which he extended his sincere thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his renewed confidence in the Council, and to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler and Chairman of the Executive Council, for his continued support of the emirate's councils.
Bin Yarouf Al Naqbi then announced the launch of the Council's work, marking a new annual chapter full of achievements for all the people of Dibba Al Hisn. The opening speech included the broad outlines of the work plan for the twenty-first annual chapter, based on the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, to develop the Council's work, raise the level of services provided to the public, address their problems in a civilized manner, activate communication between all councils in the Emirate of Sharjah, and coordinate with other government departments and agencies to serve the interests of all residents.
The Council also approved a number of minutes, most notably the final minutes of the twentieth annual session, including its work and achievements. It also approved the General Committee's inter-sessional meeting, directing the committees to follow up on the implementation of its contents and submit their reports in the upcoming sessions.
The Council discussed Circular No. (49) of 2025 regarding the unified contracting contract form received from the Department of Municipal Affairs, and directed the municipality to refer it to Legal Affairs for study and to inform the Council of the results at the next meeting.
Success of Al Maleh and Fishing Festival
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council Chairman expressed his thanks and appreciation to the organising committee of the 12th Dibba Al Hisn Al Maleh and Fishing Festival for their great efforts that led to the success of the festival. This festival serves as a heritage celebration of the city's rich cultural and popular heritage, highlighting the heritage of our ancestors, their past, and their traditional crafts. It also promotes salt products, one of the oldest industries known to the people of the UAE, which secures their needs and food supplies throughout the various seasons. The festival was well-received by the public and achieved significant media coverage, contributing to enhancing the city's cultural and tourism standing.
Developing services and meeting the aspirations of the people
Bin Yarouf Al Naqbi thanked all the Council's committees for their efforts during the twentieth annual season, calling for intensified work and coordination with the relevant authorities in the municipality to expedite the implementation of the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
The Council emphasised the importance of the relevant committees continuing to carry out their duties, each within their respective areas of expertise, in order to achieve the Council's objectives of developing services and meeting the aspirations of the people, in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership.
