The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors; and attended by His Excellency Abdullah Salem Al Ketbi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, and members of the Board of Directors. The meeting was held as part of the regular follow-up of the club's activities and programmes. It highlighted the results of the efforts made and outlined the ongoing preparations for the launch of the new 2025/2026 sports season, across both individual and team sports.
The Board of Directors discussed the early preparations plan for the 2025-2026 sports season, which includes the continuation of internal and external training camps and programmes starting in early August. It also includes the adoption of a comprehensive programme to develop the physical and technical performance of all teams, in addition to focusing on enhancing the efficiency of technical and administrative staff through rehabilitation and training programmes.
The board emphasised the importance of continuing to support individual and team sports, as they are sources of achievement and medals, in addition to expanding the participation of young people from the region in sports activities, in line with the directives of the Emirate of Sharjah. It also emphasised the activation of the scouting system to discover new talent in schools and the community and strengthen the club's competitive base.
The board’s agenda included a detailed review of the sporting achievements of the club's teams during the past season. Individual sports saw remarkable excellence, culminating in advanced positions in federation championships. A number of the club's players also represented the country on national teams for age groups, reflecting the development of the players' technical and physical performance and highlighting the success of the implemented training programs. Meanwhile, team sports teams, such as handball, recorded a strong presence in competitions and achieved high scores in annual evaluations.
The meeting reviewed the club's recent achievements, most notably the successful activities implemented within the "Sharjah Sports Summer - Our Holiday Is Different" programme, which was held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the support and follow-up of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) during the month of July.
During the meeting, the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors commended the significant support the Mleiha Club receives, which has directly contributed to strengthening its capabilities and creating the appropriate infrastructure and sports environment to develop talent and hone the skills of young people.
In this context, the Board of Directors commended the distinguished activities of the Mleiha Club during the Sharjah Sports Summer, which included a range of sports, knowledge-based, and recreational programmes targeting various age groups from the region. Advanced workshops were organised in artificial intelligence, robotics, and programming during "I Am the Future" Week, in addition to sports workshops on self-defense skills, football, and interactive mental challenges. Activities also included several events and various competitions.
In the context of enhancing knowledge exchange and raising the level of club members, the Board reviewed the participation of a distinguished delegation from Mleiha Club in the Artificial Intelligence Programme at Zewail City of Science, Technology and Innovation in the Arab Republic of Egypt at the end of last July, under SSC umbrella.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest applications in the fields of artificial intelligence and innovation and interact with scientists and researchers in an advanced scientific environment. This participation reflects the Club's vision of building a knowledge-based sports generation that possesses diverse skills and is able to meet the challenges of the future.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Board of Directors expressed its thanks and appreciation to all the technical and administrative departments, employees, and volunteers at the club for their dedicated efforts in implementing summer activities and programs and achieving honourable sporting achievements.
The Board of Directors emphasised the need to continue working with a team spirit, strengthening community partnerships, and enhancing the club’s institutional performance in line with the aspirations of the Emirate of Sharjah to make Mleiha Club a leading sporting and cultural model at the national and regional levels.
