Conclusion of 9th Al Dhaid Date Festival

Sharjah 24: Mohammed Musabah Al Tunaiji, General Coordinator of the Al Dhaid Date Festival, stated that the 9th edition of the festival witnessed a strong turnout from farmers, palm tree owners, and date lovers who took part in various competitions and date contests, presenting top-quality produce and elite date varieties.

Supporting farmers and promoting agriculture

In statements to "Sharjah 24," Al Tunaiji highlighted that the festival aimed to support farmers from across the UAE and encourage the community to engage in agriculture, especially the cultivation of the blessed palm tree. This was achieved through organising competitions such as the date beauty contest and the “young farmer” contest and allocating space for productive families.

Diverse competitions and prestigious awards

The festival featured a diverse range of competitions with valuable prizes across categories like Khinaizi, Khalas, and Shishi, in addition to the prestigious “Al Dhaid Public Elite” category open to all participants and the “Al Dhaid Private Elite” category reserved for farmers from the northern regions.
