Sharjah24: In an atmosphere filled with colors, innocence, and creativity, Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club organised the “Open Art Studio” event for children, as part of the "Huna Al Sharjah Week" within the "Sharjah Summer Sports – Our Vacation is Unique" programme. The programme is held under the patronage of the Sharjah Sports Council and aims to instill national values and enhance cultural identity among children through diverse creative activities.

Wide participation of children aged 7–12

The event, held on Tuesday morning at the club’s premises, witnessed wide participation from children aged 7 to 12. They freely expressed their imagination and creativity by painting landmarks of the Emirate of Sharjah in ways that reflected their pride and sense of belonging to their city.

The drawings included iconic landmarks such as the Sharjah Mosque, Al Qasba Canal, Al Majaz Waterfront, and historical heritage buildings, expressing the children’s love for the emirate through impactful artistic expressions.

A joyful and encouraging artistic environment

The club’s administration ensured the availability of all art supplies—colors, tools, and materials—and created an engaging and stimulating environment that brought joy and focus to the space. The children were gently guided and encouraged by supervisors who supported them to express themselves freely.

Emphasising culture and art in summer programmes

Salem Mohammed bin Howaiden, Chairman of Al Dhaid Club, emphasised the importance of including cultural and artistic activities in summer programs, given their role in developing children’s creativity and artistic taste, and fostering patriotism and belonging through art. He stated:"Al Dhaid Club is keen to ensure its summer programmes are comprehensive and balanced, not limited to sports activities, but extending to cultural and educational dimensions that contribute to the holistic development of the child."

A flagship event blending art, fun, and national identity

He added that "Huna Al Sharjah Art Studio" is one of the highlight events of the current week, embodying the club’s vision to turn summer into a genuine opportunity for skill-building and nurturing a sense of belonging. This is achieved through activities that blend entertainment with awareness, and art with patriotism.
