Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC)—represented by the Criminal Investigation Department—participated in the International Symposium on Copyright Enforcement, held in the Republic of the Philippines. The participation came in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, as part of the force’s ongoing efforts to support intellectual property rights protection and enhance its presence in specialised international platforms.

Presentation on Digital Copyright Protection

The Sharjah Police’s contribution came through a working paper titled “The Role of Sharjah Police General Command in Prevention, Monitoring, and Response,” presented by Lieutenant Ahmed Tariq Al Balhay from the digital crime branch. The presentation highlighted Sharjah Police’s initiatives in protecting copyright in the digital sphere, through early detection and immediate response to violations. It also covered the technical and legal mechanisms adopted to boost digital security and raise awareness among users and relevant entities.

Commitment to Global Engagement and Digital Security

Lieutenant Ahmed Al Balhay emphasised that Sharjah Police’s participation in this global forum reflects its continuous commitment to keeping pace with digital transformations and actively engaging in international platforms to exchange expertise and knowledge. He noted that attending such events strengthens the preparedness of security teams to confront emerging crimes and safeguard intellectual property rights, while also expanding cooperation networks with international stakeholders to ensure a safe digital environment.
