Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Services Department's (SSSD) Quality Office for Age-Friendly Health Services organised a regular health check-up day at their headquarters. The campaign targeted all employees and members of the Elderly Services Centre branches. The campaign, developed in partnership with NMC Medical Centre, includes blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol tests, as well as free consultations with a specialist. This demonstrates SSSD's dedication to protecting the health of both employees and service consumers, as well as supporting regular medical check-ups.

Focus on service standards and training

The Quality Office for Age-Friendly Health Services at SSSD was established in 2021 with the goal of improving healthcare delivery by defining standards and teaching healthcare staff across multiple medical specialities. These professionals include physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, lab technicians, pharmacists, nutritionists, and health educators. The office also monitors healthcare quality and assesses service performance, ensuring that all SSSD medical units follow the authorised service requirements.

Strategic partnerships

The Quality Office actively seeks collaborations and agreements to improve medical services, such as dentistry and physiotherapy care supported by insurance. It encourages professional development through licensing and training and ensures that services are provided in accordance with regulatory requirements. The office also collaborates with groups such as Emirates Health Services, Sharjah Health Authority, and the Ministry of Health and Prevention, as well as companies that provide medical equipment service and medical liability insurance.
