The committee reviewed the main observations and insights shared during the session, identifying major themes for the final set of recommendations. Committee members also discussed incentives for private-sector firms to adopt pro-Emiratisation policies.
Additional discussions focused on updating the regulatory framework governing the airport authority and putting forward strategic proposals to support Sharjah Airport’s long-term development, aligned with anticipated growth in air traffic.
Al Naqbi emphasised that the committee operates with a precise methodology informed by constructive debate in the plenary session and among committee members. The goal is to translate this input into actionable recommendations that align with both legislative goals and Sharjah’s broader development agenda.
He added that the proposed recommendations will aim to further advance Sharjah International Airport’s operational readiness and infrastructure as it continues to expand. The goal is to reinforce the airport’s role as a key strategic hub for the emirate—regionally and internationally—reflecting the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee agreed to complete the final drafting of its recommendation report in preparation for presentation at the upcoming session of the Sharjah Consultative Council. The aim is to ensure the recommendations contribute meaningfully to enhancing the quality and efficiency of services provided through Sharjah International Airport, while aligning with the emirate’s forward-looking vision for sustainable development and global competitiveness.
