Sharjah24: Al Dhaid Municipality has announced the activation of the outdoor advertising permit system starting June 2, 2025. This initiative aims to prohibit the random use of advertising boards in various areas, streets, and bridges throughout the city. The plan enhances the municipality’s efforts to improve the urban and aesthetic appearance while aligning with the comprehensive development taking place in Al Dhaid. This step will also help regulate the leasing of advertising boards, ensuring they align with the visual identity and artistic standards, using appropriate language that reflects the cultural face of Sharjah.
Hamad Rashid Al Tuniji, Director of Al Dhaid Municipality, emphasised that this move is part of the municipality's strategies to curb negative and random behaviors in placing and installing advertising boards that do not meet established artistic standards regarding colors, shapes, or formulations. Such boards often detract from the city's beautiful urban appearance and aim to maintain the city's visual identity, contributing to an overall improvement in aesthetics and enhancing the city's appeal to residents and visitors.

Al Tuniji explained that the new system will be implemented starting this June, and the municipality has provided the necessary workforce to receive permit applications at its headquarters. Applicants are required to submit the necessary documents through a clear and defined process. The municipality has urged all entities and institutions to comply with the new system, noting that there will be intensive inspection campaigns to remove non-compliant boards and to verify the new boards issued under the system, ensuring that the necessary permits are obtained.
