Sharjah24: Sharjah Police has emphasised the importance of regular vehicle inspections, particularly during the summer season, as part of its efforts and strategic objectives to improve road safety. This initiative aims to reduce the risks associated with rising temperatures, especially those affecting vehicle tyres.
Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Allay, the Director of the Traffic and Licensing Services Center at the Sharjah Police, explained that maintaining a vehicle’s technical readiness during the summer is a critical factor in preventing accidents. He stated: “Summer heat puts additional stress on vehicles; therefore, we stress the importance of inspecting tyres, checking and adjusting air pressure, and ensuring their overall condition.” He added that traffic patrols are stopping vehicles randomly on the roads—particularly heavy vehicles—and are actively enforcing regulations and educating drivers on the dangers of neglecting vehicle maintenance, thereby ensuring safer driving for all.

Colonel Khalid Mohammed Al Kai, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, pointed out the pivotal role that periodic inspections play in reducing malfunctions and accidents. He said: “We have adopted several measures to raise driver awareness about the importance of preventive maintenance, including regular tyre inspections, which ensure the vehicle operates smoothly and safely on the roads.”

Sharjah Police are committed to educating the public through awareness messages broadcast via various media channels regarding road safety. They urge drivers and road users to comply with traffic laws and adopt safe driving practices, stressing that safety begins with driver awareness and responsibility.
