Sharjah 24: The Dubai Police Club and Sharjah Individual Sports Club tied for first place in the General Karate League Championship. This event took place in the "Kata" competition, which wrapped up on Saturday at the Sharjah Club Hall in Al Hazana. A total of 112 male and female athletes from seven different clubs participated in the event.

A Remarkable Turnout

Sharjah Club stood out as the best in the junior, youth, and men's competitions. Meanwhile, Dubai Police took the top spot in the girls', young women's, and women's events. The event was lively, with many fans and parents coming out to support their teams.

Honoring

The closing ceremony of the tournament was honored by the presence of Major General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razooqi, who leads both the UAE and Asian Karate Federations and serves as the Vice President of the International Karate Federation. He was joined by several board members and officials from the Federation and Sharjah Club.

Concluding Competitions

The league matches are set to continue for the next two weeks, featuring the Kumite rounds. These rounds are crucial because they will help determine the final rankings for the overall league champions for the 2024-2025 sports season. Teams will gain points depending on how well they perform in both Kata (a form of practice) and Kumite (sparring) events, which include various age groups.
