Sharjah24: In the 2024/2025 Women's Volleyball League, Sharjah Sports Club for Women earned a well-deserved 3-0 victory against the American University in Dubai, in a match played on Saturday, 18 January 2025, at the American University of Dubai's court. The Sharjah team delivered an outstanding performance, demonstrating full preparedness for this crucial game against a strong opponent.
The first match between the two teams had ended with a 3-2 win for Sharjah Sports Club for Women, which made this latest victory even more significant and reinforced the team’s position in the competition.
Kareem Ben Ayyad, head coach of Sharjah Sports Club for Women, expressed his complete satisfaction with the team’s performance, noting that preparations for the match had begun two weeks earlier, with a strong emphasis on mental readiness. He explained, “This match was extremely important due to the close physical and technical level of both teams. We focused on tactical readiness and ensuring we could handle any scenario that might arise during the game.”
The coach also commended the exceptional performance of several players, particularly Aliaa Nasser, who excelled in attack, Amina Malallah, who shone as libero, and Nadwa Waseem, whose excellent defensive blocking contributed greatly to the team’s dominance in all three sets. He added, “The team’s firm adherence to the tactical plan was crucial in securing the victory, especially with the well-balanced performance in both defence and attack.”
He also highlighted the significant role played by the ongoing support from the club’s officials and the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation in boosting the team’s morale, stating, “The strong presence of officials at the matches motivated the players to achieve this remarkable win.”
This victory further cements Sharjah Sports Club for Women as one of the top contenders in the league and underscores the efforts of the club and the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation in promoting women’s sports and enhancing their visibility in the sports arena.
